Floor Polishing Machines

Keeping the planks on your floor looking as fresh as the day they were installed involves, after cleaning and buffing, a good measure of hardwood floor polishing. Even if they have taken a million steps, jumps, kicks, and other sorts of punishments, they can still be restored to their original glory.

You can start with a good cleaning and scrubbing. Sweep or vacuum loose dirt and grit. Those that are difficult to remove may have to be scrubbed with a stiff nylon brush. When you do so, scour in the direction of the grains of the planks. For stains, you can use commercial cleaners. However, do not use water-based cleaners, nor those that contain ammonia or lye, as these could actually cause more stains. Be sure to thoroughly dry the areas cleaned.

Buffing prepares the planks for the application of the finishing wax. Perform this task carefully as a sloppy work will only lead to the early peeling of your finishing coat.

After buffing, you can apply a hardwood floor polishing solution or perhaps paste wax. Do this evenly for an even shine. It is also claimed that applying the solution or wax manually will give better results. Of course, this is tedious, time-consuming, and even back-breaking. But you can be thankful that you will need to do this only once a year.

Buff the planks again, this time with a buffing machine, for a nice shine and luster.
